HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I made no New Year's resolution this year.

As has been my practice I begin this new year in the Chinese way....making sure there are no debts outstanding.....making sure I am busy with work.   And in the Scottish tradition I have ensured that I will start the way I mean to go on.

For me it is a quiet beginning, a peaceful start.

I affirm I am peaceful.  I am healthy.  I am prosperous.

I count my blessings and anticipate an interesting year ahead.

January 1st        Happy Birthday, Christine!

January 3rd       Happy Birthday, Susan!

Just like the old song, "We Live in a World that is Constantly Changing"  and  from my perspective change is one of the few things we can really depend on in our unstable world.

If we are open to change life's road can be a little less bumpy.

Some people create change.

Some people like change.

Some people are afraid of change.

Some people refuse to change.

Regardless of our response to change CHANGE is, has been and always will be an aspect of life as we know it on this planet.

I received the following from a friend the other day.  It's called "Let's See if I understand How the World Works Lately".    We may not all share its viewpoint but it's something to think about.

LET'S SEE IF i UNDERSTAND
HOW THE WORLD WORKS LATELY

If a man cuts his finger off while slicing salami at work, he blames the restaurant.

If a man smokes three packs a day for 40 years and dies of lung cancer, his family blames the tobacco company.

If your neighbour crashes into a tree while driving home drunk he blames the bartender.

If your grandchildren are brats without manners you blame television.

If your friend is shot by a deranged madman you blame the gun manufacturer.

And if a crazed person breaks into the cockpit and tries to kill the pilot at 35,000 feet and the passengers kill the crazed person instead the mother of the deceased blames the airline.

I must have lived too long to understand the world as it is anymore.   So if I die while my butt is parked in front of this computer I want you to blame Bill Gates, okay?
