Canada's Prime Minister Paul Martin was officially sworn in today.
Any man who chooses to begin the proceedings with a
Native Smudging Ceremony
and who has appointed 13 women to the cabinet
has made an excellent beginning in my view.
But I am sad to say good-bye to our beloved Prime Minister Jean Chretien.
He spoke "Straight from the Heart" and I am so proud of him. He has led our Country with integrity, honour and strength.
His achievements are many but to this writer
I believe his greatest achievement has been to
"Just Say NO"
to that guy, you know who I mean,
the President of what country is that again?
Oh, yes, President of Iraq?
Must be so since bush is making all the decisions for the country of Iraq. He will only allow countries
who were too afraid to say no;
who followed his war-mongering trek in search of the oil
to rebuild
what he alone blew up and destroyed.
Good on you, Jean Chretien! I am proud of you!
And proud to be Canadian!
I hope you & your wife enjoy a wonderful, peaceful retirement.
